The University of Toronto Department of Art History investigates how individuals and whole civilizations have expressed themselves through architecture, sculpture, painting, photography, and other art forms. Founded in 1934, it was the first such program at a Canadian university. Today it is one of the North America’s largest art history departments, offering undergraduate degrees and a tri-campus MA and PhD program.
